Volkert Precision Technologies, an established expert at high accuracy product fabrication, was contacted by a medical industry customer for manufacturing the advanced part highlighted here. This product, a laparoscopic medical device used in hospitals, required the application of complex techniques. Without our extensive experience and dedication to quality, completion of this project would not have been possible.
We planned our fabrication process to incorporate drawing and embossing procedures together. A transfer press was rigged to deliver a deep draw with integrated embossing, piercing, and lancing features, in addition to light assembly. We held high tolerances of ± 0.0005” on the 305 stainless steel that the part was composed of. The part’s dimensions, based out of customer supplied designs, were 0.875” long and 0.625” wide. All units we processed also received tumble polishing and full dimensional inspection.
Our efficiency-centric approach allowed us to provide up to 50,000 units per year with 24 hour turnarounds on orders. All manufacturing took place within an ISO 9001 compliant environment.
